Montoya wins in Mexico
Juan Pablo Montoya won the Telcel Motorola 200 Busch Series race in Mexico City, Mexico this last Sunday. And of course, the race was without controversy. This time it involved Montoya and team mate Scott Pruett.
With eight laps to go, it is said that Montoya took out Pruett to take the lead from him and Pruett let everyone know about it too. But what I have seen, it looked liked Juan had the inside line and Pruett came crashing down on him and Pruett spun out of control and out of first place.
But, while Pruett was crying about being spun out by his team mate, which was in direct violation of Chip Ganassi’s order to “not to take out your own team mate”, no one was mentioning that Montoya obviously had the best car of the day and would have took over the lead anyway.
All Montoya was guilty of was being aggressive and you do not want to take that out of a driver. He knew he had the best car, but Juan should have been just a little more patient and took over his team mate at another point in the course and went on to a error free first NASCAR victory.
So, a lesson learned for Juan Pablo Montoya for sure, and hopefully for team mate Scott Pruett as well. Pruett did get spun out, but it may have been more his own fault than Montoya’s. Hopefully they can forgive and forget and work well with each other in the future.
Till the next Pit Stop…..

That was some awesome driving by Montoya as well. He was a little aggressive when he ended up banging into Pruett, but Pruett did cut inside, and Montoya’s car was so good, who knows how quick he may or may not have been able to get off the gas.

Sorry Jen, I missed you comment. Yes, Juan is a very good driver and the talent that keeps migrating to NASCAR is just awesome. I truly believe that Pruett was just peeved because he knew he was going to lose and was using that as a reason. Thanks for the comment and talk to you again soon!
