Rumor Mill
Well this rumor has popped up a couple of times in the last week, most recently this morning on The Morning Drive on Sirius Satelite Radio’s NASCAR channel No. 128.
They reported this morning that in the 2007 Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway in July, that TNT, the broadcaster of that event, is thinking of airing the race in its entirety, with no commercials.
Sounds unbelievable doesn’t it? Well, don’t think that the race will go on with out some sort of sposorship. TNT is thinking of running the race non-stop with the advertisers little transparent images in the lower corners of the screen instead of breaking away to commercial break.
Well, sounds like a good idea, but I don’t see sponsors falling for it though. I can’t see them trading a 30 second or full minute commercial for a little transparent logo in the corner as they sponsor the “next 25 laps”. I can see this as a add on for advertising for during the race, but not totally replacing it. Besides, when would we be able to go to the bathroom?
Till the next Pit Stop…..

hey Scott, we just got our National Guard magazine and it shows Casey Mears as the new face for their car. My son loves Greg Bifell who used to be the driver. We’re all wondering which car is he going to drive now?. Will he still be driving for Subway?.
Was Bifell fired by the National Guard?.

Dexie,
Yes, the all familiar National Guard sponsorship has moved over to Hendricks Motorsports and will be on Mear’s #25 car.
From what I can gather, the government sponsors only do 1 year contracts versus the multi-year ones most teams opt for but I do not have the exact details of the contract.
Biffle will stay with Roush Racing and I am not positive on who will be his main sponor now. Maybe they will expand Subway into the main sponsor.
Thanks for reading PitStopReport.com and please tell all your NASCAR buddies about us and good luck in the comment contest.
